The bill, would let drivers keep their
road kill provided they report it to conservation or police officers within
12 hours. The measure became law when Gov. Cecil Underwood declined to
veto it.
The bill allows any wildlife run over
by vehicles to be taken home for dinner, except protected birds, spotted
fawn or bear cubs (they don't fit in the pot). The state hopes to save
money on removal of carcasses from the roadways.
