Here is an EMAIL I got from the MOM of a student:

Dear Mr. Traffic:

Just writing to say thanks.  My son Kevin attended your traffic school today at the Sheraton hotel in Cerritos.  I am Kevin's Mom.  I live in Pennsylvania now......(which is beside the point) but I wanted to let you know that I had two calls from Kevin today regarding the class.  The first one came at his breaktime to sing the praises of your class.  The second came when the class was over after he arrived home.  He usually calls me on his cell phone while he is driving (which I always crucify him for).  Today he waited until he got home.  I think he quoted you verbatim several times and told me he learned more today than he learned in all his weeks of driver education.  He quoted statistics that amazed him and really seemed to have an impact on his future driving habits.  He told me he did not want to be one of the "boneheads" that you would see again in 18 months nor the one who would support your lavish travels.  Kevin is 16 years old.  Parents have a hard time convincing their kids that talking on cell phones, and eating, and driving the cd player are dangerous things to do while driving.  Kevin is a great kid but like most teens he thinks he is invincible.  I am not sure how you do what you do, but thanks so much for how you do it.  He told me you made him the valedictorian of the class.  I don't know about that, but I am grateful for the fact that he was at least valedictorian for a day.  According to Kevin it takes 21 days before something becomes a habit.  "One day at a time and a kid who is wise enough to know he doesn't know it all" is about the best gift you can have as a parent.  Thanks so much for all you do.

                                                            Sincerely with Gratitude,

                                                            Helen

Wow........that makes it so totally all worthwhile.  Thanks Helen!!!

Kenny, you were so fantastic at the traffic school this weekend! I have to tell you I experienced a paradigm shift in the way I think about driving. In fact I put both my purse and cell phone in the back of my car, because I have been guilty of picking it up at the red lights and reading and answering texts. But I recognize that's OFF limits for a reason. I also found my self looking for the posted speed limit signs to make sure I was going the speed limit and glancing at my dash to make sure I was at or below. You successfully raised my awareness and touched my consciousness about the entire issue of driving.

What a phenomenal investment of both my time and money.

It also became very apparent to me that you are passionate about talking on this topic and you are the most knowledgeable person n this subject. It's probably what keeps you young.

Thanks for sharing your light with us and continue on with your mission to impact and improve lives, because it is working.

If I can ever be of help to you or one of your friends, give me a call. We cover from the desert to the mountains, from the valley to the beach.

One more thing, my son just turned 18 and I'd like to know what are the laws as it pertains to 18 year olds. He is taking his drivers exam this week. Please advise.

Have a fantas-phenomenal week!

Your friend and now former student,

Lillian
